Light created before the sun?

Genesis states that light was created on the first day but the sun, moon and stars were created on the fourth.

Surely this shows that Genesis is not a literal account of creation. Do you agree?

This is no problem for 'Gap Theorists' who see the description of the "six day creation week" as a restoration of a previously - judged earth from the perspective of being on the planet already orbiting the sun.
So called "literalists" who see the origin of the earth 6000 years ago, unlike Gap theorists solve this problem by saying that God Himself was the light as it says elsewhere in the Bible.

Ray, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Gap Theorists believe God created the sun after it was already there? Or God effectively spoke himself into existence with 'let there be light'?
